More Than 20 People Hurt After Two Cranes Collide In Texas

Two cranes collided at a construction site in Austin, Texas, leaving 22 people injured. Officials said that 16 workers were taken to local hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries while the other six people refused medical attention. Most of the injuries occurred as workers tried to run from the scene of the accident.

One operator remained trapped inside the crane's cabin after the two cranes got tangled together several stories above an apartment building that is under construction. The worker is not in any danger, and rescuers are attempting to extract him.

Investigators are trying to determine the cause of the accident. They said that despite high winds in the area, the base of cranes remain stable and are unlikely to collapse. They are using two drones to survey the tangled cranes and determine the best way to begin untangling them, without causing the cranes to become unstable.
