White House Senior Adviser Stephen Miller Tests Positive For COVID-19

Yet another member of President Donald Trump's inner circle has contracted the coronavirus. On Tuesday, White House Senior Adviser Stephen Miller revealed that he had tested positive for the virus.

"Today, I tested positive for COVID-19 and am in quarantine," Miller stated.

Miller's positive test is extremely frightening because he had tested negative for the virus for nearly a week while in quarantine.

"Over the last 5 days I have been working remotely and self-isolating, testing negative every day through yesterday," he explained.

Miller joins an expansive list of politicians who have tested positive for the virus in the last week. Leading the way, Miller's colleague and fellow Trump aide, Hope Hicks, contracted the virus on Thursday. Hours later, President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump tested positive for COVID-19. Since then, Sen. Thom Tillis, Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany, Sen. Mike Lee and nearly a dozen other major political figures have contracted the virus.

In addition, members of the White House housekeeping staff have contracted COVID-19. Not long after Miller reported that he had had the virus, two White House housekeepers reportedly tested positive. However, the identities and health status of those who have tested positive are being kept confidential. Forbes reported that White House officials told housekeepers who had tested positive to use "discretion" when discussing the status of their health.

In spite of the recent outbreak on Capitol Hill, Vice President Mike Pence and his wife, Karen, have been able to remain COVID-19 free. As a result, he will take the stage in Salt Lake City, Utah tonight to participate in the Vice Presidential Debate with Sen. Kamala Harris. The event is set to begin at 9 p.m. at the University of Utah's Kingsbury Hall.
