Alicia Garza Was The Target Of An Armed White Supremacist Nabbed By The FBI

Black Lives Matter Co-Founder Alicia Garza was the potential target of an attack planned by an armed white supremacist in Idaho. Garza learned of the potential attack earlier this month after the FBI apprehended the Idaho resident. Garza's name was reportedly one on a long list of activists and political leaders that was found at the man's home.

"The FBI visited my house today. They arrested a man in Idaho on weapons charges who they believe was affiliated with white supremacist groups. They found my name on a list in his home, alongside others," she tweeted.

“This is why this president is so dangerous. He is stoking fires he has no intention of controlling."

Reports of armed attacks against community and political leaders are not uncommon this month. Earlier this month, federal authorities arrested 13 people in connection to a plot to kidnap Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer. The group known as the Wolverine Watchmen have been accused of threatening police officers, plotting to "instigate civil war" and planning to kidnap Whitmer. Not to mention, the group also considered an attempt to kidnap Virginia Governor Ralph Northam.

As the election nears, authorities are preparing for more threats made due to someone's political beliefs, gender or race. In cities like Los Angeles, hate crimes of this nature are not entirely uncommon. Despite making up less than 10% of the city's population, Black people are the most frequent targets of hate crimes.

In recent weeks, President Donald Trump has been accused of encouraging these sorts of threats. During the first presidential debate, Trump made reference to the Proud Boys, a hate group.

Proud Boys? Stand back and stand by,” he said when asked to denounce white supremacy.

As a result, the push to remove the President from his office has grown stronger.

“I’m ok, y’all, but this shit is not ok. Vote this muthaf----- out. For real," Garza tweeted.
