Democratic presidential candidate, former Vice President Joe Biden's campaign is reportedly willing to challenge any efforts by President Donald Trump's campaign to go to the United States Supreme Court to prevent remaining ballots from being tabulated in the 2020 Presidential Election.
In a statement released to the Associated Press early Wednesday morning, Biden campaign manager Jen O'Malley Dillon denounced Trump's claim that he would "be going to the U.S. Supreme Court" and wanting of "all voting to stop," as "outrageous, unprecedented and incorrect."
O'Malley Dillon said Biden's campaign has "legal teams standing by ready to deploy to resist that effort" and adding that the former vice president's campaign, "will prevail."
The Associated Press had not declared a winner in the presidential race as of Wednesday morning with hundreds of thousands of votes left uncounted in several key battleground states. Biden currently leads Trump with 238 electoral college votes to 213, with neither candidate securing the 270 electoral votes necessary to be declared the winner.
Biden is reported to have leads in Wisconsin and Nevada as of Wednesday morning, while Trump still holds advantages in Georgia, North Carolina, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin, with hundreds of thousands of votes left to be counted.
The president made a statement early Wednesday morning claiming he expects to win the presidential election and vowing to ask the Supreme Court to weigh in on the election, calling the process "a major fraud on our nation," despite there being no evidence of foul play involved.
