Republicans Call Donald Trump's Election Conspiracy Claims 'Insane'

Former Vice President Joe Biden is inching towards the White House and it does not appear that President Donald Trump is ready to move out just yet. During a press conference on Thursday night, he intimated that nefarious activity could cost him the election.

"If you count the legal votes, I easily win," he said.

"If you count the illegal votes, they can try to steal the election from us."

For days, the President has railed against the counting of legal, mail-in ballots in states like Pennsylvania and Georgia. He has gone as far as telling poll workers to "stop the count" of legal ballots. As expected, Democrats have fired back at his conspiracy claims. Surprisingly, Republicans have also slammed Trump's comments.

"America is counting the votes, and we must respect the results as we always have before. No election or person is more important than our Democracy," Republican Governor Larry Hogan said.

'We want every vote counted. Yes, [we want] every legal vote [counted]. If you have legit concerns about fraud, present evidence and take it to court. Stop spreading debunked misinformation. This is getting insane," Republican Rep. Adam Kinzinger added.

Despite criticism from within his party, Trump does not appear to be deterred. His campaign staff has filed voter fraud lawsuits in multiple states. He has also indicated that he we will take his case to the U.S. Supreme Court if allowed. Despite his persistence, former Vice President Joe Biden has said that he will remove the President from the White House if he is elected President.

"As we said on July 19th, the American people will decide this election. And the United States government is perfectly capable of escorting trespassers out of the White House," Biden campaign spokesperson Andrew Bates said.

If elected, Biden will be sworn into office on January 20, 2021.
