President Donald Trump announced that his personal attorney, Rudy Giuliani, has COVID-19. Giuliani is the 20th person close to President Trump to test positive for the coronavirus since an election-night party at the White House.
".@RudyGiuliani, by far the greatest mayor in the history of NYC, and who has been working tirelessly exposing the most corrupt election (by far!) in the history of the USA, has tested positive for the China Virus. Get better soon Rudy, we will carry on!!!," Trump tweeted.
Giuliani checked into MedStar Georgetown University Hospital in northwest Washington, D.C., on Sunday (December 6) with mild symptoms.
"Thank you to all my friends and followers for all the prayers and kind wishes. I'm getting great care and feeling good. Recovering quickly and keeping up with everything," Giuliani tweeted.
In the past month, Giuliani has crisscrossed the country, as he attended meetings and public hearings with state lawmakers and other officials in Pennsylvania, Arizona, Michigan, and Georgia.
The Arizona meetings included more than a dozen current and future Arizona lawmakers, many of whom were not social distancing or wearing masks. After learning of Giuliani's diagnosis, officials in Arizona decided to close the state Senate and House for one week starting on Monday.
