The pandemic may have closed movie theaters around the country, but major motion pictures are still being released. Thus far, movie fans have already joined Soul, Wonder Woman 1984, Ma Rainey's Black Bottom and several other films. In the coming weeks, One Night In Miami, Outside The Wire and Coming To America 2 are set to hit their respective streaming services. Joining the star-studded list of films coming to a television near you, Malcolm & Marie is set to hit Netflix very soon. To get fans ready, co-stars Zendaya and John David-Washington have delivered the film's first trailer.
Throughout the two-minute teaser, David-Washington and Zendaya find themselves confined to their homes due to the pandemic as they go through the ups and downs of discussing past relationships with their current partner. Along the way, the two laugh, yell, cry and come together to tell a compelling story.
Malcolm & Marie not only features two star actors, but it also stands out as one of the first films put together during the pandemic. The cast and crew committed to quarantining, daily COVID-19 testing and other strict protocols last spring.
“I am so grateful to this cast and crew, many of whom are my Euphoria family, for coming together during such uncertain times. We felt privileged to be able to make this film together and we did so with a lot of love," director Sam Levinson said about the sacrifices made to put the film together.
"We are all thrilled that it has ended up with Netflix which is unparalleled in allowing filmmakers the freedom to tell their stories that reach audiences all over the world.”
Malcolm & Marie will debut on February 5.
