YouTube Suspends Trump's Channel For At Least 7 Days

YouTube has joined a growing number of tech companies that have suspended the accounts of President Donald Trump. YouTube announced that his channel is being suspended for at least one week for violating the site's terms of service for uploading a video that had incited violence.

YouTube did not provide details about the video, which has since been removed, and said it will reevaluate its decision next week.

"After careful review, and in light of concerns about the ongoing potential for violence, we removed new content uploaded to the Donald J. Trump channel and issued a strike for violating our policies for inciting violence," a YouTube spokesperson said in a statement. "As a result, in accordance with our long-standing strikes system, the channel is now prevented from uploading new videos or livestreams for a minimum of seven days—which may be extended."

Trump's YouTube channel has not been removed, and the videos are still accessible, but he cannot upload new content. YouTube also disabled comments on the videos. If the channel receives two more strikes within 90 days, it will be permanently removed.

YouTube also removed videos from the official White House channel but only issued a warning to the channel instead of giving it a strike.
