Ava "Stay With A Job" DuVernay has announced that she is preparing to launch yet another new show. This time around, she'll be partnering with The CW to debut her new show, Naomi. Based on a comic book from Brian Michael Bendis and David F. Walker, Naomi tells the story of a young Black girl rising from a small town and transitioning into a superhero realm. When a force strikes her hometown, she must return home to uncover the source and handle the fallout.
"NAOMI was created by Brian Michael Bendis, David Walker and artist Jamal Campbell in 2019," DuVernay tweeted after the show was picked up.
"Her last name McDuffie is a tribute to late comic writer Dwayne McDuffie. Now, she’s on her way to a pilot for The CW from yours truly and Jill Blankenship. Her journey continues. Let’s go!"
Naomi is the latest project DuVernay has been tied to this year. Coming off of the success of Bridgerton, she is set to produce Netflix's The White Tiger, Battle of Versailles and The New Gods. Most notably, she is set to produce the new miniseries, DMZ. Based on the DC Comics series, the show will center around America enduring a second civil war that has left Manhattan looking like a war one.

There is no word as to when Naomi will premiere on The CW.
