After more than four weeks of having her hair stuck in place, Tessica Brown, known online as the “Gorilla Glue Girl,” may soon get relief.
Brown arrived in Los Angeles, California on Wednesday (February 10), traveling from Louisiana to get a medical procedure to remove the glue. She landed early in the morning, and wore a red hoodie, hat, and face mask as she made her way out of the airport.
In viral videos posted to TikTok, Brown said she used Gorilla Glue spray instead of hair spray on her hair, and has made several failed attempts to get the glue out. Brown was finally able to cut off her ponytail on Tuesday (February 9), joining TMZ Live to quell rumors that she’s posting about her ordeal for social media clout.
Brown went to the emergency room over the weekend to try and get relief, but the treatment she was provided didn’t result in a permanent fix.
Now, Brown has travelled to receive a procedure from Beverly Hills doctor Dr. Michael Obeng, who said he’d be able to remove the glue from her hair completely.
TMZ reported that Dr. Obeng offered to do the $12,500 procedure at no cost to Brown, and fundraising efforts have surpassed their goals in support of Brown and her predicament.
Brown has reportedly hired a lawyer to weigh her legal options against the Gorilla Glue company. Gorilla Glue tweeted about Tessica’s situation, emphasizing the intended uses of their extra-strong adhesive products like laminate, wood, fabric, metal, and cardboard.
Supporters and onlookers will just have to wait for the results of Tessica’s procedure and possible pending litigation.
