Milton H. Jones Jr. has made history within the United Negro College Fund. The Atlanta businessman has recently been named the next chairman of the United Negro College Fund. Jones Jr. becomes the first Black man to serve in this role since the organization was formed in 1994.
“Milton brings a wealth of business knowledge and a thoughtful and collaborative leadership approach that will help us thrive and continue to drive UNCF’s and our HBUCs’ impact and growth,” UNCF CEO Michael Lomax said.
“Annually, UNCF’s work enables 60,000 students to go to college with UNCF scholarships and attend its 37 member Historically Black College and Universities."
Jones Jr. will follow William Stasior Sr. The former Booz Allen Hamilton CEO held the position for more than a decade. Past CEOs also include John D. Rockefeller III, Jack Stahl and Michael H. Jordan.
Jones Jr. is a founding member of Peachtree Providence Partners Holding Company, LLC. He has also served as the company's vice-chairman.
"Since 1944, UNCF has played an integral role in changing the life trajectory for each student it has served, and l look forward to continuing that legacy,” Jones Jr. said.
“Our member institutions and students remain the focus of our collective efforts. As we progress each year, we will grow our organization by building upon the strong foundation laid at UNCF’s inception and strengthened throughout its history."
