Patrick Mahomes is the latest person to partner with the HBCU Legacy Bowl. Thus far, the NFL and the Black College Football Hall of Fame have led the way as leading sponsors for the football showcase. Through this partnership, Mahomes will work to promote the game and support HBCU football prospects through the post-college process.
“15 and the Mahomies Foundation is a proud partner of the HBCU Legacy Bowl in support of historically Black colleges and universities,” Mahomes said.

The inaugural HBCU Legacy Bowl will take place six days after Super Bowl LVI at Yulman Stadium on the campus of Tulane University. One hundred HBCU football prospects will be invited to take place in this year's showcase. It will also be broadcast on the NFL Network.
"HBCUs are a bridge to equality," Super Bowl XXXV winner and Grambling State graduate James "Shack" Harris said.
"The HBCU Legacy Bowl means opportunity and exposure for HBCU players and coaches. We're excited to have this in New Orleans, especially during Black History Month," Williams added.
Alongside the HBCU Legacy Bowl, HBCU football prospects will have the opportunity to participate in the HBCU Combine. This year, the event will move forward despite the pandemic. Pro football hopefuls will gather in Birmingham, Alabama from April 9 through April 10 for a skills showcase as well as a special dinner. Award-winning NFL writer Darryl Orlando Ledbetter and ESPN's Stephen A. Smith are set to attend the two-day event.
“We are fully committed to exploring ways to enhance player evaluation for professional football teams and giving every deserving player the opportunity to have his talent assessed by pro scouts,” HBCU Combine Executive Director Phillip Blackwell said.
