The boxing exhibition market is on the upswing. In recent months, Mike Tyson-Roy Jones Jr. and Ben Askren-Jake Paul boxing exhibitions have brought in millions of dollars while featuring A-list stars like Snoop Dogg and Oscar De La Hoya. As the year pushes forward, the market is not slowing down. This week, Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Logan Paul have announced that they will box in an exhibition match on June 6 in Miami, Florida at Hard Rock Stadium.
"Logan Paul and I are going to fight at Hard Rock Stadium. Mayweather Promotions, Fanmio and Showtime will team up to give you an epic event," Mayweather wrote on Instagram shortly after the fight was announced.
The details of the fight have not yet been shared. It is unclear how long each round will be and how many rounds will be fought. However, reports have indicated that Logan Paul can weigh no more than 190 pounds and Floyd Mayweather Jr. can weigh no more than 160 pounds.
Major boxing news does not end there. Former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson has announced that he is currently negotiating a deal to fight Lennox Lewis. The two are expected to fight in September at an undisclosed location.
"I'm gonna fight Lennox Lewis...in September," Tyson told TMZ.
Much like the Paul-Mayweather Jr. fight, it is unclear how many rounds the two may fight and what the exact rules will be. Tyson last fought against Roy Jones Jr. in November 2020. Lewis last fought in 2003 against eventual heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko. Tyson and Lewis also had a professional bout over their own. The two faced off in Memphis on June 8, 2002. The British champion emerged victorious with an eighth-round knockout. After 20 years, Tyson will have an opportunity to revenge this loss.
