Nearly two months have passed since Paul Pierce and ESPN parted ways, but Pierce has not forgotten what went down. In fact, he may be out to prove that he's better off without the company. On Wednesday, the Boston Celtics legend tweeted about the success he's had in the cryptocurrency industry since leaving the worldwide leader in sports.
"ESPN, I don't need you," Pierce tweeted.
"I [have] EthereumMax. I [have] made more money with this crypto in the past month than I did with you all in a year. [The] truth shall set you free. [I am] my own boss."
Pierce is not only winning in the world of crypto exchange. He's also still winning on the basketball court. Earlier this month, he learned that he would be enshrined into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame. Pierce will be joined by fellow basketball legends, Chris Bosh, Chris Webber and Ben Wallace among others.
Pierce is one of the greatest small forwards to ever play the game of basketball. As a member of the Boston Celtics, Brooklyn Nets, Los Angeles Clippers and Washington Wizards, Pierce appeared in 10 NBA All-Star Games, earned four All-NBA Team honors, won the 2008 NBA Finals MVP trophy and brought the Celtics their most recent championship in 2008.
Pierce, Bosh, Webber, Wallace and several other basketball legends will receive their flowers while they can still smell them this fall. The enshrinement ceremony has been set for September 11 in Springfield, Massachusetts.
