Police say a Florida man pretending to be a firework may have run afoul of Cape Coral’s noise ordinance. An unidentified man was caught on a security camera screaming “Boom, boom, boom. Firecracker” at 3 a.m. last Friday (June 25th). Residents believe that the man was protesting people who had been celebrating The Fourth of July a week early. Sara Warnecke, who caught his shenanigans on camera said he could also be hear calling the fireworks “annoying” and angrily yelling at people to quit using them in the middle of the night.
Neighbors say they didn’t hear any fireworks the night of the incident, but Warnecke has her own theory about why the man put on the display when he did.
“He thought last year probably that ‘I’m going to wake them up, like they woke me up with the fireworks,’” she said. “Makes you wonder what’s going to go on in the next few days until the Fourth of July.”
