Last year, COVID-19 pandemic has slowed down everything in society including the world of entertainment. As a result, content creators have faced obstacles while creating film and television at a time when it is needed most. Unfortunately, the COVID-19 pandemic is still affecting everyday life in 2021, but the world is slowly starting to open up. While taking precautions, movie theaters, television studios and production hubs are starting to resume working on the year's most anticipated shows, films and festivals. Joining in, Donald Glover and FX have begun working on the long-awaited third season of Atlanta. Three years have passed since the end of season two and here's what we've learned about season three so far.

What Happened In Season Two?

Season two ended with a ton of uncertainty. Van and Earn's parental relationship is put on thin ice when their daughter, Lottie, is recommended for a private school specializing in gifted children. Earn pushes for Lottie to attend the school and puts all of his money up for Lottie to attend, but Van catches Earn off guard when tosses out the idea of moving away from Atlanta and living with her mother. Meanwhile, Al's relationship with Earn is put on thin ice due to his consistent mistakes. Luckily, Earn is able to tag along with him and Darius for his upcoming tour in Europe.

As the group moves through security en route to their flight to Europe, Al realizes that he has a gun in his bag. Unable to dispose of it himself, he passes it to Earn. Thinking quickly, he slips the gun into the bag of another artist, Clark County, who was nearby. Clark County is able to get through security, but he blames his manager, Luke, for the issue. Al thanks Earn for having his back and it appears that they're on good terms.

What Is The Cast Saying About Season Three?

"I align the seasons, I think, to me, like Kanye records. I feel like this is our Graduation. This is probably our most accessible but also the realest — an honest version of it — and I feel like the most enjoyable, like the third album.” On Graduation, Kanye baldly focused on making “stadium-status” hits, sharpening his mainstream appeal while maintaining his core qualities," Donald Glover said.
