Frank Ocean has entered the world of luxury with his very own jewelry brand, Homer.

In celebration of the launch of the 25-piece collection of fine and high jewelry — designed in New York and handmade in Italy — the 33-year-old musician gave his first interview in two years to the Financial Times, in which he discussed the inspiration behind the luxury brand.

"[...] Homer is considered the father of history and history is meant to endure – the same as diamonds and gold – and I know Homer used papyrus, but I’ve always liked the idea of carving history into stone," Frank said of the jewelry collection that he has been working on for three and a half years. The singer-songwriter additionally noted that he locked in on the name “mostly because it’s five letters and the dotcom was available."

In addition to jewelry, which is handcrafted using 18K gold, recycled sterling silver, hand-painted enamel, and American lab-grown diamonds, the 25-piece collection includes a belt buckle and a silk scarf. According to FT, prices range from $395 to $1.9 million.

"Hand on my heart, this project has kept my mind moving and my imagination turning throughout it all," Frank shared on his Instagram Story. "All of my work now is dedicated to my family. Everything. My hope is to make things that last, that are hard to destroy, set it in stone. I’m so f**king happy for everyone involved and I admire you and am proud of you and couldn’t have done it without you."

He added, "A.P, Michael, Nile, Allie, Tone (happy birthday!!), Evan, Tracy, David Tommy, Juliana, Charlie, Jake, Ysham, Keisha the whole house. Everybody who came to California when we had no lights and no water and no chairs or desks and built this all from nothing with me. I wanna say thank you for believing in my vision and taking a part in this story from the bottom of my heart. This is 3 years in the making and there is so so much I’m excited to share with all you strangers. Love."

The Homer jewelry store opens in Manhattan on Monday (August 9). The store is located at 70-74 Bowery and is appointment-only.
