Drake appears to have found an unlikely partner for his upcoming line of Certified Lover Boy merchandise. Late Wednesday night, the Toronto Raptors superfan posted a photo of an unreleased black Nike t-shirt with the phrase, "I Need A Freak," on it. More importantly, he tagged 2021 NBA Finals MVP Giannis "Greek Freak" Antetokounmpo, who reposted it. In a matter of moments, fans of both the GRAMMY winner and NBA champion began to speculate that the two were collaborating on a new line of merchandise that would coincide with the release of Drake's upcoming album. With that said, nothing has been confirmed just yet.

What has been confirmed is the release date for Drake's upcoming album, Certified Lover Boy. The former Degrassi star first teased the album's release date in 2020 with a cinematic trailer. However, REVOLT reports that the album was pushed back in January after Drake suffered a knee injury that required surgery. To keep fans happy, he released Scary Hours II, hopped on "Having Our Way" with the Migos, delivered a guest verse on "Over The Top" and appeared on Slime Language II. After months of waiting, the Toronto native confirmed the album's new release date with an Instagram post on August 30.

"Certified Lover Boy. September 3," he wrote.

Yesterday, the hype surrounding the album's release continued as Drake unveiled the Certified Lover Boy tracklist in an unconventional manner. In every artist's hometown, he shared a billboard hinting at their involvement with the project. Thus far, fans have guessed that Jay-Z, Tems, Giveon, PARTYNEXTDOOR, Travis Scott and several other stars will appear on the album.
