Tiffany Haddish got emotional recently talking about the deaths of her two friends, comedian Fuquan Johnson and actor Michael K. Williams

TMZ caught up with the actress-comedian on Tuesday (September 7) after leaving a taping of Jimmy Kimmel’s show. She shared stories of the two entertainers with the outlet and opened up about how their tragic deaths have shaken her. "They both had my back," she said.

After hearing about the surge in drug overdoses in the last year –– which has disproportionately impacted Black people in the US –– the Girls Trip star was shocked to learn how massive the opioid crisis has become.

While noting she doesn’t have firsthand experience of using particular substances, Haddish urged people using drugs to “find another way” to cope. She suggested seeking out conversations with people about what someone might be going through.

“To anyone who’s using drugs right now, I would say, try to find another way,” Tiffany said. “Talk about what’s going on,” she added. “I don’t know what it feels like to do those drugs, but it must feel amazing. But there are other things that feel amazing, too, like accomplishing a goal,” she continued.

“I don’t know, but there has to be another way,” she said, before lightheartedly suggesting something “that comes from the earth.”

Johnson was among three people found dead on Saturday (September 4) at a Los Angeles home. Williams was found dead at his NYC apartment on Monday (September 6). Police in both cases have said both of the stars' death are suspected to be linked to drug overdoses.
