Its name is LEONARDO, because scientists like to be clever. It stands for “LEgs OnboARD” drone, and it’s built by the brains at CalTech. While it’s still just a prototype, LEO can both walk AND fly, and the video is as creepy as you’d imagine. Since it can both walk and fly, LEO can do tasks that similar robots that only do one or the other cannot. The CalTech team believes there are unlimited use for such a robot, from assisting in interstellar missions, to warfare, to perhaps even finding Sarah Connor. See it HERE.
