Drakeo the Ruler's brother is suing the Los Angeles music festival where the rapper was stabbed to death in December 2021.
According to multiple reports, Devante Caldwell, Drakeo's brother, along with other members of the Stinc Team rap collective filed a lawsuit Thursday (February 24) against the organizers of the Once Upon a Time in LA fest after the "300 Raccs" died following a "deadly mob attack" backstage.
Caldwell claims the rapper's life was at risk the minute he showed up to the festival and cited several lapses in security that led to the "vicious" and fatal attack.
Specifically, Caldwell says two security "checkpoints" were staffed by unarmed security officers who allowed anyone who flashed an all-access pass to enter the backstage area. The rapper's brother also says not all the cars entering the area were searched and that gang chants were heard from some of the vehicles entering the area.
The rapper's family says that a mob of 50 to 100 people were involved in the attack and that it took emergency personnel 30 minutes to get to the rapper.
According toTMZ, the lawsuit names Live Nation, Snoop Dogg's LLC and the Los Angeles Football Club where the festival was held and is seeking millions in damages.
