Chris Rock stopped the second show of his comedy tour on Thursday night (March 31) to shut down a fan who launched a verbal attack against Will Smith.
"F––k Will Smith," an audience member at The Wilbur Theater in Boston yelled, probably in an attempt to show support to Chris Rock who was slapped on stage during the Oscars on Sunday (March 27).
"No, no, no, no, no..." Rock replied to the crowd, according to People, which put an end to the situation. The show was Rock's second in Boston and on his "Ego Death" comedy tour, which launched just days after the shocking on-stage incident at the Oscars.
According to People, Rock didn't engage with the audience on Wednesday night (March 30) when they began to do "Will Smith" chants during his first show in Boston.
"I'm still processing what happened," he told the first crowd, and also revealed that "I haven't talked to anyone, despite what you heard."
Early reports indicated that Diddy confirmed the two had spoken and squashed the feud, but the hip-hop mogul later walked back the comments to say he'd spoken to each comedian separately.
Will issued a public apology to Chris and the family of Venus and Serena Williams in a statement on Instagram after he slapped Chris in the face for a remark he made about Jada Pinkett-Smith's hair.
Rock's younger brother, Tony Rock, shared on Twitter that he didn't approve of Will's apology and confirm that neither of the men had spoken to each other.
Rock's tour continues in Boston on Friday (April 1) before heading to Indio, California on April 8.
