Disturbing videos captured the moment a Chicago high school baseball game was interrupted by nearby gunfire, causing teens on the field to duck and run for cover.

The incident took place on Thursday evening (April 27) at St. Rita High School in Chicago's southwest side Wrightwood neighborhood, NBC News Chicago reported. St. Rita's baseball team was facing Marmion Academy when gunshots sparked panic on and off the field in the middle of the game.

Law enforcement officials reported that the guns were fired off-campus at a fast-food drive-thru across the street but videos posted to social media show how close the shots sounded to the field and players. In the video, the player on first base runs after the first of what sounds like more than a dozen shots begin.

Chicago police reported that a 42-year-old woman was exiting the restaurant's drive-thru in her vehicle when an SUV drove by and opened fire on her car. Authorities reported that the shots damaged the woman's car and five other parked vehicles before the people who fired the shots fled the scene.

No injuries were reported and no arrests have been made in connection to the incident, officials said.

School officials said the game was briefly suspended but resumed after no injuries were confirmed among players or anyone else at the scene.
