The countdown is on for the 51st Annual Legislative Conference!
The Congressional Black Caucus Foundation, Incorporated (CBCF) will host this year's ALC from September 28 through October 2, 2022, at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center.
For the 51st year, the CBC Foundation has enlisted ALC honorary co-chairs Representative Val Demings of Florida and Representative Steven Horsford of Nevada.
The ALC is the "premier gathering of African Americans, cultivating engaging policy discussions on issues that impact black communities around the world," as noted in a press release. The five-day conference "features more than 100 policy sessions, a national town hall, an exhibit hall, health screenings, the Day of Healing (formerly the Prayer Breakfast), the Phoenix Awards Dinner—and much more."
The conference additionally features subject experts, industry leaders, elected officials, and concerned citizens, who will explore today's issues from an African-American perspective.
This year’s ALC theme, Advancing Our Purpose. Elevating Our Power, "focuses on mobilizing and empowering communities to advocate for policies and initiatives that support upward mobility and [sparks] civic engagement around critical issues that affect Black communities in a pivotal election season."
