The Black student who was suspended from a Texas high school over his locs received another suspension on Monday (September 19). Allie Booker, the attorney representing the family of 17-year-old Darryl George, told CNN the boy was suspended for over two weeks after his hairstyle violated Barbers Hill Independent School District's dress and grooming code.

The code prohibits male students from having hair that extends "below the eyebrows or below the ear lobes." George's first suspension came days after the CROWN Act, which bans hair discrimination, went into effect in the Lone Star State.

Booker told school officials they have until Wednesday (September 20) to meet with the family to discuss the repeated disciplinary actions over George's hair.

“What I expect for them to try to do is to put him out of school,” the attorney revealed to CNN. “But they won’t do it with our consent.”

“Male students’ hair must not extend below the top of a t-shirt collar or be gathered or worn in a style that would allow the hair to extend below the top of a t-shirt collar, below the eyebrows, or below the ear lobes when let down," the policy further states.

School administrators previously told the family George could be placed in a Disciplinary Alternative Education Program at an alternative school if Darryl didn't cut his hair by the end of last week, according to Booker. Darresha George, his mother, is also considering legal action.

“He’s very anxious, very aggravated right now because he keeps getting punished for something that’s irrelevant to his education," she said of her son.

CNN reached out to the school district for comment, and director of communications David Bloom told reporters they're “unable to provide any comment with respect to disciplinary matters involving a student.”
