Family members are asking for help searching for a 71-year-old Black man who disappeared nearly three weeks ago. According to WPLG, a missing persons report was filed for Nathaniel Seymour Cunningham on September 14 after he vanished from his Coconut Grove, Florida home.

A neighbor alerted his family after not seeing Cunningham for two weeks. They claim the last time they saw the grandfather, he was on his way to pick up a friend from the hospital on September 1. Police added that his beloved dog, Bay Bay, was left alone and uncared for inside Cunningham's home for 13 days.

“He’s not the type of person that I’ve ever known to just go and leave because he has that dog,” the neighbor told reporters.

His sudden disappearance has left many questions for his concerned loved ones, such as where his early 2000's white Ford F-150 went, as well. Dede Rogers, Cunningham's cousin, said Miami police used license plate reader technology to look for his vehicle. Unfortunately, authorities came up empty.

Now, family members are wondering if prior health concerns may have afflicted him.

“I don’t know if he’s had another stroke,” she said. “Honestly, at this point, I don’t know what to think."

Anyone with information about Cunningham's whereabouts is urged to contact Miami police at 305-603-6640.
