A Black father confronted a Missouri museum worker who appeared to be following his family during their visit.

TikTok user @jandkids shared a video of the confrontation, which reportedly occurred at the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art in Kansas City.

In the video, the father appeared to be showing his children around the museum before he spotted an employee staring at them from behind a pillar.

“Are you about to follow us the whole time, man?” the man asked the employee multiple times. “Because if you’re going to follow me the whole time, then give us a godd–n tour."

"I know how to control my kids," he continued. "You asked me to make sure they don’t run. I will do that.”

The employee avoided eye contact with the father as he continued to confront him about what appeared to be an instance of racial profiling.

“I’m trying to enjoy the museum with my kids,” the father said. “Are you following anyone else that got kids because I’m not the only one here with kids?”

The man told the employee that he would talk to his manager if his family continued to be followed.

“You’re going to look like you’re being racist to a Black man with his two children at the museum because you’re not over there following them,” the man said referring to other families in the museum.

“I didn’t do it that way,” the employee said. The father again asked if the employee would give him a tour, to which the worker responded: “I can talk to you about some of the art if you’d like, sir.”

The man continued to call out the employee for following him.

“If you follow me one more time, I’m going to get your manager,” the man said. “So stop following me.”

The video garnered over 2 million views as of Thursday (September 21). According to reports, the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art hasn't spoken out about the incident.
