An Alabama police officer has been put on leave after she was caught on video tasing a handcuffed Black man, TMZ reports.
In the video, an unidentified Reform Police Department officer was seen berating a man during what District Attorney Andy Hamlin said was an arrest for trafficking fentanyl.
The officer, who is white, ordered a handcuffed Black man to lie face down on the front of a vehicle.
"I ain't doing s***, bro. I got a gun right there," the man responded. The officer then appeared to take a weapon out of his pocket and deploy a stun gun on his back.
As the man cried out in pain, the officer yelled "Do you want it again? Shut your b***h a** up!"
In a joint statement, Reform police chief Richard Black and Mayor Melody Davis confirmed the video was taken during a citizen's arrest on Saturday (December 2).
"The Reform Police Department is aware of a video circulating involving a citizen's arrest on December 2," the statement reads. "The department is in the process of turning over all materials related to this arrest to the Alabama State Bureau of Investigation and has requested a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding the arrest. In accordance with City Policy, the officer involved has been placed on administrative leave while the investigation is conducted."
