Kandi Burruss is exiting The Real Housewives Of Atlanta after 14 seasons.

On Sunday (February 4), Burruss announced that she won't be returning for the upcoming season of The Real Housewives of Atlanta on the red carpet of the 2024 Grammys.

"I decided I’m not coming back this year," Burruss told Variety's Marc Malkin.

Burruss has been a RHOA mainstay since the show's second season, which aired in 2009. The XSCAPE singer said a delay in production for season 16 gave her time to think about whether she wanted to return.

"A friend of mine was like, ‘Why do you keep doing it?’ And I was like, ‘Well, I think because I’ve just been doing it so long, feels weird to think not to do it?’ " Burruss said. "So I was just like, 'You know what? I’m going to take a break, I’m going to take a moment."

"It’s been 14 seasons, and they allowed us to sit around for a little too long," she continued. "But during that time I had started working on a lot of other things, and I got some nice big projects coming soon, so I’m super excited about those things."

During last year's BravoCon, Real Housewives executive producer Andy Cohen said RHOA production was on hold as the network reworked the cast. A source told People that Burruss turned down a contract to return for the upcoming season.
