Actress Taylor Russell stunned the crowd during her debut at the 2024 Met Gala. The Escape Room star strutted onto the red carpet Monday evening (May 6) with one of the most eye-catching dresses of the event: a high-neck wooden corset with a red floral pattern and a dreamy white circle skirt.

According to Vogue, the movie star's first gala is a notable occasion considering her connections to the LOEWE, a Spanish luxury fashion house and one of the sponsors of fashion's biggest night.

Russell is a global ambassador of the brand and opened their spring 2023 show in Paris. She's also the muse of designer Jonathan Anderson, who serves as LOEWE's creative director. The two teamed up once again to tackle this year's gala theme of "Garden of Time," which saw stars embrace earthy and floral designs for their outfits.

The news source also explained the process of making Russell's jaw-dropping outfit. Anderson said "biomimicry" was the inspiration for the beautiful corset, which was 3D-molded to fit the actress' body perfectly. The designer then printed the wood pattern using a technique called hydro sublimation.

“When we work together it’s always an incredible creative dialogue–she is an amazing collaborator and a very special friend,” Anderson told Vogue. “Playing with the senses is central to the experience of the exhibition and we play similar tricks with trompe l’oeil in collections at LOEWE, blurring the line between what’s real or surreal, what’s natural or unnatural."
