Rapper Cam'ron is going viral following his chaotic appearance on CNN.
During an interview on NewsNight, CNN anchor Abby Phillip questioned Cam'ron about the newly-surfaced video of Diddy assaulting Cassie in a hotel.
“Everything in the video is egregious, I’m against,” Cam'ron said, noting that he doesn't consider Diddy a friend. “So when I saw the video I was kinda upset being that I know him.”
However, the rapper went off the rails when asked again if he recognized that side of Diddy.
“I don’t know him like that. What do you mean did I recognize him? I seen him,” Cam'ron told Phillip during the interview. “What do you mean my experiences? I seen him and I thought it was disgusting, I didn’t do a zoom in to see if it was really him or nothing, but he admitted it was him so yeah, it was him.”
Phillip later asked Cam'ron about his opinion on an apology video released by Diddy on Sunday (May 19). In the video, Diddy said he takes "full responsibility" for his actions but explained he had hit "rock bottom" at the time of the incident.
“The apology ain’t for me, it’s for Cassie,” Cam’ron said on CNN. “He ain’t do nothing for me. What I think about it don’t matter. You need to ask Cassie if she accepts the apology. I said what I said.”
At one point during the interview, Phillip played a clip from Cam'ron's podcast, where he asked rapper Mase why he took him to The Notorious B.I.G. instead of Diddy’s Bad Boy Records after getting a record deal.
“Being that I saw you as a good friend, I wanted you with somebody I knew,” Mase said in the podcast clip. “Instantly I knew Biggie would do right by you.”
While on air, Cam'ron took a sip of PinkHorsePower, a supplement that helps improve libido.
“Sorry, I’m gonna’ go get some cheeks after this horse power drink," he said.
The rapper appeared to grow frustrated over questions about Diddy and Cassie.
“I don’t really know Puff like Mase knows Puff,” Cam'ron said. “I appreciate what Mase said and of course, that’s my brother so if he felt that way, he felt that way. I can’t really tell you how Puff moves, Mase would know better than me.”
Cam'ron promoted his podcast before completely derailing the interview.
“Who’s the talent agent for this joint? You think I be sitting around watching what Diddy do? I didn’t know this was a Diddy joint that y’all invited me to. Who booked me for this joint?” he said.
Following Diddy's apology video, Cassie's attorney, Meredith Firetog, spoke out about his comments.
"Combs' most recent statement is more about himself than the many people he has hurt," she said. "When Cassie and multiple other women came forward, he denied everything and suggested that his victims were looking for a payday."
"That he was only compelled to ‘apologize’ once his repeated denials were proven false shows his pathetic desperation, and no one will be swayed by his disingenuous words," Firetog added.
