Former Real Housewives of New York star Bethenny Frankel is facing backlash over her demographic description of the Hamptons.
In a now-viral TikTok, Frankel claimed that the Hamptons are filled with "not only rich people" but "Latin" and "African American" people too.
“There are all kinds of people here. There’s a big Latin community here, big. There is an African American community here on the beach. Beautiful houses,” she said on TikTok. “I had a house there one summer.”
Frankel was slammed for suggesting that people of color don't have money.
“News flash: White people are not the only ones capable of having money. There are rich Black people and rich ‘Latins,'” The View co-host Ana Navarro tweeted in response to Frankel's comments.
"…because 'rich' means 'white?'" another X user questioned.
"Just goes to show you no amount of money can buy self-awareness. Ooof!" a third person said.
