The 2024 Paris Olympics are underway and more Black athletes are set to compete this week.
On Monday (August 5), gymnastics stars Simone Biles and Jordan Chiles kicked off the week by medaling on the floor. Chiles earned bronze, her first Olympic medal, while Biles earned silver.
Other Black athletes from Team USA found success in Paris last week including track and field stars Noah Lyles, who won gold in a photo finish during the men's 100-meter dash, and Sha'Carri Richardson, who earned silver in the women's 100m.
Biles took home the gold last week in the individual all-around final, vault, and team final with her Team USA teammates.
Team USA's basketball team also claimed victories against South Sudan and Puerto Rico.

Lyles, Thomas, and Sha’Carri Richardson could all compete in the Men's and Women's 4x100m Relay on Thursday (August 8). The lineups for these races hadn't been announced as of Monday (August 5).
Men’s Basketball
Team USA Men's Basketball 5x5 Team, starring LeBron James, Stephen Curry, Kevin Durant, Jayson Tatum, and more, is set to compete on Tuesday (August 5) at 3:30 p.m. ET against Brazil in the quarterfinals.
Women's Volleyball
Chiaka Ogbogu, Avery Skinner, Jordan Thompson, and Haleigh Washington will star on Team USA's Women's Volleyball team, competing in the quarterfinals against Poland on Tuesday (August 6) at 11:00 a.m. ET.

Women's Basketball
Cierra Burdick, Dearica Hamby, and Rhyne Howard will star on Team USA's 3x3 women's basketball team. They are set to compete in the semifinals against Spain on Monday (August 5) at 12:30 p.m.

Women's Soccer
Crystal Dunn, Casey Krueger, Naomi Girma, Trinity Rodman, Jaedyn Shaw, Sophia Smith, and more are set to represent Team USA in Women's Soccer in the semifinals against Germany on Tuesday (August 6) at Noon E.T.

Jeffrey Louis will represent Team USA in breaking beginning on Friday (August 9).
