Wendy Williams made a rare public appearance amid her dementia diagnosis.

According to Daily Mail, Williams, 60, posed for photos during a shopping trip with her son, Kevin Hunter Jr., at a herbal supplement store in Newark, New Jersey on August 18.

Photos from the public outing show Williams smiling and embracing the owner of African Bio Mineral Cell Food, Victor Bowman. Williams wore a blue button-up dress and white boots with her hair down and in bangs as she posed for the photos.

The photos mark the first time Williams has been spotted in public in over a year. She was last seen publicly in May 2023, when she was diagnosed with aphasia and frontotemporal dementia. The diagnosis came after Williams was placed under a court-ordered legal guardianship that oversees her finances and health.

Many fans expressed concern for the former talk show host following the February airing of the Lifetime documentary Where Is Wendy Williams? where she appeared to be having cognitive difficulties.

However, Williams appeared to be in good spirits as her son also posed for a photo with Bowman during their shopping trip earlier this month.

"Much love to Wendy Williams and her son @topfloor_kev I remember when I met Kevin in Usha village, my dad told me I want you to meet Wendy's son. At that time, we were the only ones of the same age in Usha," a caption of the photos reads.
