Fat Joe Taps Steven Horsford To Garner Support For Harris At Hip-Hop Awards

BET Hip-Hop Awards host Fat Joe recruited Las Vegas Congressman Steven Horsford to urge viewers to vote for Vice President Kamala Harris in the upcoming presidential election.

During Tuesday's (October 15) airing of the BET Hip-Hop Awards, Fat Joe, who hosted the ceremony, called on viewers to make their voices heard and cast their ballots in the 2024 election.

The rapper suggested that the choice between Harris and former President Donald Trump is clear.

"Look, y'all know we aren't supposed to talk politics at the party but vote," Fat Joe urged viewers. The host pointed out how Harris worked to forgive billions of dollars in student loan debt while Trump "is trying to bring back stop and frisk."

"Please vote," he said.

Later in the show, Horsford joined Fat Joe, candidly asking viewers to support Harris in the 2024 election.

"Celebrating the culture is important," the congressman said, "So is electing people to office who respect us and have real ideas to make our lives better."

"I'm voting for Kamala Harris for president," Horsford continued. "I'm voting for Hakeem Jeffries to become the first Black Speaker of the House. I'm voting for better wages. I'm voting to close the racial wealth gap. I'm voting for economic freedom."

"Let's remind everyone that our voices matter and we will determine our future.," he concluded.

The 2024 BET Hip-Hop Awards were hosted in Horsford's hometown of Las Vegas, Nevada at Drai's Nightclub. Yung Miami, Trina, 2 Chainz, Juicy J, Soulja Boy, and more performed during hip-hop's biggest night.
