Charlamagne tha God found Lara Trump's claims that her father-in-law and former President Donald Trump isn't racist "hysterical."
On Monday (October 21), Lara Trump, who's married to Eric Trump, the former president's son, defended the Republican nominee during her appearance on "The Breakfast Club" with hosts Charlamagne and DJ Envy.
DJ Envy pointed out how "a lot of people feel that Trump is racist."
"What do you say to that?” the radio show host questioned the former president's daughter-in-law.
“I will say that you have to look at somebody and what they actually have done, and Donald Trump really was very beneficial to the Black community when he was in the White House,” Lara Trump said.
“I will say I’ve never seen this man say a racist thing, I think the attacks are fairly…” she added before Charlamagne could be heard laughing off-camera.
“Why is that funny Charlamagne?” the RNC co-chair questioned the host.
“I’m just laughing,” Charlamagne said. “It’s hysterical. But, I mean, people act like there’s no such thing as Google or we don’t have TV, radio…”
Lara then suggested Charlamagne cite some of Trump's racist remarks.
“What is it that you think that he’s said?” she asked.
The show then dubbed in clips of the Republican nominee making inflammatory comments over the years.
“When Mexico sends its people, they’re not sending their best,” one of the Trump clips showed him saying. “They’re bringing drugs, they’re bringing crime, they’re rapists.”
Lara's defense also comes as the former president is being sued for defamation by the Exonerated Central Park Five, a group of Black and Latino men who were wrongfully convicted of raping a jogger in New York City’s Central Park in 1989.
“This is a man who was beloved by so many people in this country, and he was friends with everybody," Lara said on "The Breakfast Club."
