Vice President Kamala Harris held a massive rally at the site where former President Donald Trump spoke to his supporters on January 6, 2021, before thousands of them stormed the Capitol.
On Tuesday (October 29), Harris delivered a speech to roughly 70,000 rallygoers at the Ellipse in Washington, D.C., starkly contrasting Trump's remarks on January 6 that incited the Capitol Riots.
“We know who Donald Trump is,” Harris said Tuesday. “He is the person who stood at this very spot nearly four years ago and sent an armed mob to the United States Capitol to overturn the will of the people in a free and fair election.”
The Democratic nominee then offered how her presidency would provide a "different path" from an "unstable" and "unhinged" Trump who she said was "obsessed with revenge."
“In less than 90 days, either Donald Trump or I will be in the Oval Office,” Harris said.
“On day one, if elected, Donald Trump would walk into that office with an enemies list. When elected, I will walk in with a to-do list full of priorities on what I will get done for the American people.”
During her speech, Harris highlighted her policy proposals, including lowering housing costs, expanding the child tax credit, enacting legislation that provides national abortion rights, and more.
“I pledge to seek common ground and common sense solutions to make your lives better,” the vice president said. “I am not looking to score political points. I am looking to make progress.”
