Authorities have launched an investigation into a fight that broke out at a polling location in Orangeburg County, South Carolina.

According to WIS News 10, the altercation broke out at the old Orangeburg County library on Wednesday (October 30) between a man wearing a "Let's go Brandon" hat and poll workers.

Video shows poll workers telling the man to take his hat "outside." At one point during the video, the man was cursing at a poll worker when he was told he couldn't vote. A poll worker called for the next person in line before the man threw his hat toward the individual waiting to vote next.

A fight then ensued between a poll worker and the man. Staffers held the man back as he was swinging his arms at another poll worker.

The Orangeburg County Department of Public Safety responded to the incident. According to South Carolina law, voters aren't allowed to wear anything that displays a political party, candidate's name, or ballot issue.

"The poll manager shall use every reasonable means to keep the area within five hundred feet of any such entrance clear of political literature and displays, and the county and municipal law enforcement officers, upon request of a poll manager, shall remove or cause to be removed any material within five hundred feet of any such entrance distributed or displayed in violation of this section," the law states.

The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division has launched an investigation into the altercation. Early voting will continue in South Carolina through November 2.
