Diddy Hands Out Cash To Miami Families For COVID-19 Relief

A media mogul was in South Florida last week, and he brought some good will, too.

NBC Miami reported that rapper Sean "Diddy" Combs dropped some cash for hundreds of people Tuesday (December 29) in the Overtown neighborhood in Miami. He handed out $50 to people alongside his children.

It was an event aimed to provide relief to people who struggled during the coronavirus pandemic. Reporters said $50 Publix supermarket gift cards and bags containing hygiene products also were handed out. Diddy was also wearing a clear face shield and black gloves as he went through crowds.

The music artist's foundation is also collaborating with nightlife organizer Michael Gardner and local group Teens Exercising Extraordinary Success to help provide rental assistance to 175 families, according to NBC Miami.

This wasn't the first time a rapper was in the giving mood in South Florida. Back in September, Nicky Jam visited a fast food restaurant in Little Havana. He and entrepreneur Jay Mazini was giving out stacks of green to both workers and customers.

Other musical icons were doing their part to get some much-needed relief to people in need this year, such as Bon Jovi's concert, or country music stars auctioning their instruments.
