Insecure star Issa Rae is continuing her incredible week in Hollywood. Earlier today, Rae has announced that she will be leading an online class for creators looking to break into Hollywood. Rae hopes that her class will help others begin “creating outside the lines."
“A lot of people enter the industry thinking their ideas have to be perfect and fit into a specific kind of box, but that’s never been part of my process,” Rae said.
Rae's new class will be hosted by MasterClass. Subscribers can access Rae's class along with more than 100 others for $180.
“In my MasterClass, I want to tell you everything that I’ve gone through, every mistake that I’ve made and everything that I’ve learned so far, so that you can do better than I did. If you have a desire to create, this class is for you.”
Rae has not only launched her MasterClass, but she has also been appointed to the Television Academy Executive Committee. In this role, Rae will join five other appointees as they attempt to steer the Television Academy for the remainder of the year.
“We are thrilled to be able to leverage the collective expertise of this talented group of Television innovators as we navigate this extraordinary time in the history of our industry," Television Academy CEO Frank Scherma said.
“Their leadership provides invaluable insight that will allow the Academy to play an integral role in shaping the evolution of the medium.”
Later this year, Rae will also star in the thriller film, Vengeance, alongside B.J. Novak and Ashton Kutcher. Her hit show, Insecure, may also return later this year.
