Don Cheadle To Narrate 'Wonder Years' Reboot At ABC

Don Cheadle has landed the lead role in an upcoming series at ABC. Cheadle will narrate and play the role of Dean in ABC's reboot of Wonder Years. The series centers around the Williams family as they grow and evolve with the city of Montgomery, Alabama during the 1960s. Cheadle will star alongside accomplished thespians Dulé Hill and Saycon Sengbloh. Sengbloh and Hill will play the role of Dean's parents. Laura Kariuki of Black Lightning will play the role of Cheadle's sister, Kim Williams.

The original Wonder Years series debuted in 1988 and ran for 115 episodes. It centered around Kevin Arnold, played by Fred Savage, as he grew up in a suburban town in the 1960s. Along the way, his are opened to the world around him. Throughout the series, Savage is joined by his best friend Paul, played by Josh Saviano. Dan Lauria, Alley Mills, Olivia d'Abo and David Schwimmer also appear in the series. The series earned four Golden Globe nominations and two dozen Primetime Emmy Awards. After five years, the show came to an end and has not been brought back since.

There are few actors more equipped to take on the role of a reimagined classic TV series than Don Cheadle. He currently stars in Black Monday alongside Regina Hall. Throughout the course of his career, he's starred in Hotel Rwanda, Iron Man, Crash and Avengers: Endgame. Later this year, he is set to appear in Space Jam: A New Legacy. Not to mention, he was also cast as Cad Bane in The Book of Boba Fett. At this time, it's unclear when the Wonder Years reboot will hit a television screen near you.
