This week, the world of sports and entertainment will have its eyes set on Hard Rock Stadium for the upcoming boxing exhibition featuring Logan Paul and Floyd Mayweather Jr. In a few months, that focus will shift from Logan Paul to his brother, Jake Paul. In the midst of the media hoopla surrounding the Paul-Mayweather bout, former UFC Welterweight Champion Tyron Woodley announced that he would be stepping into the ring with Youtube sensation-turned boxer, Jake Paul.
Tyron Woodley is a seasoned UFC fighter who has stepped in the octagon with some of the best fighters in the world like Kamaru Usman, Stephen Thompson and Darren Till. However, he has never stepped into the boxing ring for a professional bout. In order to get ready for his August 28th bout, Woodley will train with one of the best boxers of all time, Floyd Mayweather Jr.
Woodley's training arrangement seemingly came together this week. In the build-up to his fight with Logan Paul, Mayweather Jr. extended the offer to Woodley. Soon thereafter, he accepted.
Well, give me Tyron Woodley. I make sure I get in camp and train him for this fight. I want Tyron Woodley to come to Las Vegas and work with us," Mayweather said.
“They just texted me, let’s do it. I just talked to him today so for sure, why would I not train with the greatest boxer of all time? He’s already my dog and we’ve been talking about training anyway, so for sure. I’m definitely going to take him up on that," Woodley replied.
Woodley is set to take on Jake Paul this August at a location that has yet to be determined. In the immediate future, Mayweather Jr. will take on Logan Paul this Sunday at Hard Rock Stadium.
