Former President Donald Trump recently delivered comments that left many scratching their heads. While speaking to Sean Hannity of FOX News, Trump suggested that state officials should run the country instead of a President. However, that is far from the only head-scratching moment he delivered during the interview. He also suggested that he had no idea how "important" a President was to the United States before Joe Biden took office.

“We need a president that’s respected. I have never realized how important, frankly – and it is a horrible thing to say – how important a president, the head of this country is. I thought it would maybe run through bureaucracy, it doesn’t. You need somebody up there that they are going to respect," Trump said as he criticized his political rival.

The former reality show host's criticism of the 46th President of the United States did not end there. He also joined millions of Americans in chastising Biden's handling of international affairs in Afghanistan. He described Biden's exit plan as an "embarrassment" while praising his former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo.

“It is a terrible time for our country. I don’t think in all of the years our country has ever been so humiliated. I don’t know what you call it – a military defeat or a psychological defeat, there has never been anything like what’s happened here: You can go back to Jimmy Carter with the hostages,” Trump said.

“You are dealing with thousands and thousands of Americans and others that are stranded and very dangerously…in Afghanistan. So it’s something that you can’t even believe.”

There is no love lost between Trump and Biden. For months after the most recent election, Trump accused the President and Democratic Party of "stealing" the election from him. While Trump has yet to declare for the 2024 Presidential Election, many expect him to run against Biden again. As the election nears, tensions could rise yet again between the two.
