Reverend Jesse Jackson Sr., 79, and his wife, Jacqueline Jackson, 77, have both tested positive for COVID-19 and are currently hospitalized according to a statement from the Rainbow PUSH Coalition.
The statement reads that doctors are currently monitoring their condition and that there are no further updates or information available at this time. Rainbow PUSH advises anyone who has had contact with either of them for the last five to six days to follow CDC guidelines and to isolate from others.
The famed civil rights leader is vaccinated against the virus and publicly received his first dose in January, as he urged others to vaccinate as soon as possible. The Jacksons are being treated at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago. We will keep following their medical condition.
