Letitia Wright landed in the hospital after sustaining minor injuries on the set of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.
According to Deadline, the injuries occurred during an overnight shoot in Boston while Wright was filming a stunt. The injuries she sustained were reportedly caused by an incident with a stunt rig.
“Letitia Wright sustained minor injuries today while filming a stunt for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. She is currently receiving care in a local hospital and is expected to be released soon,” a Marvel spokesperson told the outlet in a statement Wednesday (August 25).
On Thursday (August 26), sources updated the outlet that the actress has been released from the hospital and that the incident was minor and won’t affect the film's shooting schedule.
While Wright was filming a scene in Boston, the majority of the shoot has taken place in Atlanta since June.
Wright is returning to the highly anticipated Black Panther sequel as "Shuri" alongside Danai Gurira, Daniel Kaluuya, Winston Duke, Lupita Nyong'o, Angela Bassett, and Florence Kasumba. Ryan Coogler returned as the film's director.
The film is scheduled to be released July 8, 2022.
