Janet Jackson has officially released a clip of an upcoming documentary entitled, Janet.
“Hey u guys. Excited to share the first teaser of my new documentary with u,” she tweeted on Monday (September 6). Fans of the singing legend are excited to get an inside look at the singer’s life story.
“This is my story, told by me, not through someone else’s eyes,” the singer says while narrating the video. “This is the truth. Take it or leave. Love it or hate it. This is me.”
Some of Jackson’s famous friends, including Missy Elliott, Mariah Carey and Paula Abdul, make an appearance in the teaser, praising the singer for her innovative contributions to the music industry.
“You are the BluePrint of what a SuperStar is! 40 years in the game & still counting! You are UNBREAKABLE! I love you Jj you are already know,” Missy tweeted in response to the trailer teaser.
The documentary is set to be released in January 2022 and is slated to be a two-night event on A&E and Lifetime. The film will cover many moments of Jackson’s life, including the infamous 2004 Super Bowl halftime show with Justin Timberlake, and the deaths of her father, Joe Jackson, and brother, Michael Jackson.
The documentary will also serve as a 40th anniversary of the singer’s self-titled 1982 album.
