Lil Kim is set to make her debut in the cannabis industry, and is confident she'll make her customers and fans "extremely happy."
The rap and fashion icon is launching her own cannabis brand, Aphrodisiac, in partnership with the California-based Superbad, Inc. According to Forbes, the product will become available in Northern California at the beginning of next year, and there's plans to expand to several states including her native New York.
Superbad's founder, Carlos Dew said the "Crush On You" artist's favorite genetic strains were used in the creation of the Aphrodisiac's product offerings –– which also tap into Kim's legendary fashion sense with collectibles and lifestyle products.
"I'm a hustler by nature, right? I'm from Brooklyn, so we hustle. I equate the game all the time to how I came up in the streets. It's different, but it's not, it's the same. I've always been the type of person who will try it out. I test my product. I tested this and I was like 'Oh yeah, this is that gas," Kim said in an interview with Forbes.
Lil Kim is among several artists who've broke into the cannabis industry. From Jay-Z, Tee Grizzley, La La Anthony, Method Man, and Soulja Boy, many celebs are bringing their take on cannabis to the market.
When it comes down to it, though, Kim says her fans can expect to be happy with Aphrodisiac.
"I can tell you this much," she said. "Whoever's a Lil Kim fan, they're going to be extremely happy. Extremely happy."
