Donald Trump excitedly revealed Tuesday (November 23) that he recently welcomed Kyle Rittenhouse to his Mar-A-Lago home in Palm Beach, Florida.

The former president raved about the newly-acquitted 18-year-old being a "nice young man" adding that Rittenhouse is a "fan."

Trump went on to tell Fox New's Sean Hannity that he called Rittenhouse "and wanted to know if he could come over and say hello." Trump, Rittenhouse, and his mother posed for photos, shown on air.

Trump went on to say that Rittenhouse is a "really good young guy" who should "not have had to suffer through a trial" for fatally shooting two men and injuring another last August.

Trump said the trial was "prosecutorial misconduct and said that it's "happening all over the United States right now with the Democrats."

Rittenhouse, who was 17 at the time, argued he shot at protesters in self-defense and was acquitted by a jury on Friday (November 19). Multiple conservative lawmakers and right-wing leaders have hailed the verdict and praised Rittenhouse for his actions. Some have even offered him internships.

Trump's boasting about the 18-year-old's trip to Florida also comes after Rittenhouse admitted to being a supporter of Black Lives Matter.
