A Memphis woman is facing charges after facilitating a hit on her maintenance man, WREG News reports.
One person was shot, and it wasn't the maintenance man.
According to court documents, 29-year-old Tierra Thomas alleged that the maintenance man stole from her while working in her Decatur Street apartment.
On the day of the shooting, Thomas and an unknown male suspect approached the maintenance man and her neighbor outside of the apartment building.
Police say the unidentified male accompanying Thomas asked, “Is that him?”
Thomas then responded “Yes," which signaled the man to pull the trigger at both the maintenance man and the other tenant.
While Thomas' intended target wasn't shot, her neighbor was rushed to the hospital in critical condition. According to the police, stray bullets landed in a nearby apartment where a woman and her four children live — none were injured.
Thomas is being charged with two counts of attempted murder and seven counts of aggravated assault. The 29-year-old is currently in jail on a $200,000 bond.
The identity of the man who opened fire is still unknown.
