A Black couple has launched a membership community for those looking to stretch their dollar and support Black-owned non-profits and businesses.
Husband and wife Dino and Heather Cummings created BLAQ CARD, which gives its members access to exclusive savings on retailers across the country. With a BLAQ CARD, members are saving an average of 34 percent per transaction on dining, shopping, travel, and other premium experiences.
A BLAQ CARD press release states, “We were able to negotiate deals and secure savings of up to 50 percent off from over 1,500 retailers on things we buy every day. And we are just getting started.”
Members not only have access to slashed prices — the card unlocks exclusive benefits including upgraded hotel rooms and insider access to events. A BLAQ CARD membership awards members premium experiences without premium prices, according to their website.
Black people spend over $1.5 trillion annually, and the Cummings aim to uplift the Black community by giving their people access to the prices and experiences they deserve while using their huge economic impact to build Black wealth.
The BLAQ CARD website reads, “We’re positioning our members to leverage our massive economic power by offering exclusive access and unpublished pricing while paying it forward and uplifting the Black community as a whole.”
“We’re starting a movement where the Black dollar will finally get the respect that's long overdue and we would love for you to be a part of it,” the website continues.
The Cummings have committed a portion of every BLAQ CARD membership fee toward Black-owned non-profit organizations and providing grants for small businesses.
